Waltham Forest Rights Ambassador Event
29 Aril 2026
On Wednesday, 11 March 2026, Thorpe Hall Primary School hosted the third event for Pupil Ambassadors from Rights Respecting Schools in Waltham Forest. 49 pupils from 12 schools across the borough came together to showcase their work on children's rights, exchange ideas, and celebrate their achievements. Pupils discussed the importance of learning about their rights and ensuring that everyone’s rights are respected at school, and shared ideas to encourage more schools in Waltham Forest to participate.
UNICEF UK’s Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) is now available free to all London schools until March 2028, thanks to funding from the Mayor of London’s Violence Reduction Unit. RRSA provides practical guidance and resources for schools to embed rights within culture and practice, strengthening safeguarding, wellbeing and belonging, and pupil voice.
If any Waltham Forest school is interested in joining RRSA, please find further information here: RRSA in London - Rights Respecting Schools Award or contact Helen Trivers on htrivers@unicef.org.uk.
