About us

The Hub website is the main communication channel for all professionals working in - and supporting - schools, early years and 16 to 19 education provision in Waltham Forest.

Since it was launched in 2014 the education sector has changed significantly, two key changes include:

  • the launch of Waltham Forest’s Life Chances Commission
  • a move to school improvement being sector led rather than led by the Local Authority (LA)

Waltham Forest’s Life Chances Commission was created in 2017. The commission’s report ‘Enabling Young People to Thrive’ has thirty recommendations for improving life chances of young people in the borough separated into early years, school-aged and post 16 opportunities.

The Learning Partnership aims to cultivate and develop relationships between all schools, early years and 16 to 19 education providers, the LA and other key partners to ensure that there is an effective school improvement system so that no child is left behind.

To enable the work of the sector The Hub will:

  • support the LA meet its statutory duties
  • support the communication of strategic groups across Waltham Forest
  • support self improving systems and collaborative support between schools and settings
  • promote a positive image of Waltham Forest as a leading edge authority in urban education in order to support the recruitment and retention of high quality professionals

Please note: Whilst the new site continues to be built users who are directed to the old site will need to use their current Hub login.
