It has been reported from schools and LAs across the country and that there are significant technical issues within the system, which have been fed back to the STA. It is recommended that you do not attempt to make any selections or updates at this stage. We will contact you once the portal is fully functional and provide clear guidance on the steps to take. 

For reassurance:

• Maintained schools do not need to take any action — they are automatically assigned to their geographic local authority.
• Academies have until Friday 9 January to confirm their chosen local authority (STA Key Stage 2 Teacher Assessment Guidance).
• Independent schools that are participating in assessments have until Friday 5 December to confirm their moderation arrangements (Key Stage 2 Assessment and Reporting Arrangements).
