Join the launch of the London Region KS3 RISE Alliance

Schools across London are invited to be part of an exciting new initiative aimed at improving outcomes for young people through collaboration, innovation and evidence-informed practice. The launch of the London Region KS3 RISE Alliance marks the beginning of a regional partnership focused on strengthening Key Stage 3 education and supporting the national priority of improving attainment in English and Maths.

The Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) programme brings together schools, education leaders, researchers and sector partners to address key challenges and share effective practice. With a particular focus on foundational literacy and closing the disadvantage gap, the KS3 RISE Alliance will support schools to develop, test and evaluate approaches that can make a meaningful difference to pupils' learning.

Participating schools will explore areas such as integrated literacy within Quality First Teaching, diagnostic assessment and phonics interventions, high-impact literacy strategies, effective KS2 to KS3 transition, and improving boys' reading engagement. The programme will help build a growing evidence base of successful KS3 practice across London.

The launch event will take place on Monday 28 September 2026 at William Perkin CofE High School, Greenford (UB6 8PR). Attendees will hear from leading education voices including Mary Myatt, Vanessa Ogden, and representatives from the London Steering Group.

The event is free to attend. To register your interest in attending and in leading or contributing to a research project, please complete the Microsoft Form registration link. Join us and help shape the future of KS3 education across London.
