LBWF’s Early Years, Childcare and Business Development Service are very excited to launch ‘Learning Together’ our home learning programme in partnership with All Talk Communication Project and Chit-Chat Pitter-Pat
The mission is to create a Learning Together Community support network in Waltham Forest for us to support parents/carers and for them to support and inspire each other! Each week there will be Top Tips Tuesday fun activities for families to do together on an activities card; Thumbs Up Thursday an opportunity for families comment and show their involvement; Share day Saturday a chance for families to celebrate their Learning Together activities.
Being together and playing games
Being Together and playing games is about sharing loving, funny moments and laughing together. Babies and children love playing games with you and will evoke laughter from everyone - from Peekaboo to racing games! This week is Reading Week and we will be reading and enjoying books together. Reading gives so many opportunities to develop your child’s vocabulary and knowledge of the world around them. Moving Together Summer
Moving Together is about how you can build your child’s physical skills so they continue to stay active and healthy. Talking Together Summer
This week we will be Talking Together. Over the summer we will be revisiting our early Learning Together cards. Children learn through repetition and it's great to revisit favourite activities together. Reading and learning together
Reading and Learning About the World together is about continuing to pass on that love of reading to your child and using books to help them to understand the world around them. Support your child to be aware and accepting of differences that surround them everyday by sharing books that represent different abilities, cultures, beliefs, and skin colours.
Counting and Problem Solving
Counting and Problem Solving Together is about finding opportunities all around you to practise counting and spotting numbers with your child! It is so important that as adults we are not providing children straight away with the answers to something.
Moving together and building
Moving Together and Building is about bringing those gross and fine motor skills together to support your child’s physical development. Encourage as much outdoor time as you can, plan activities that include your child’s natural surroundings!
