These resources address wider considerations for changing local SEND systems and working in Local Partnerships to improve outcomes for children and young people. They may help local areas as they develop their SEND Reform Plans and identify areas for improvement and change.
- CDC has developed a range of accessible materials for children and young people (CYP) explaining key areas of the reforms, which you may find helpful – Voices of children and young people in the SEND reforms
- In case you’re not aware, the Department has published GLD reports on View Your Education Data, using 2024/25 EYFSP data. These are available for schools, trusts and local authorities please use and share, if helpful. The reports include contextual scores and detailed annexes, enabling leaders to analyse pupil groups, compare performance and make evidence informed decisions alongside professional judgement.
The free Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) programme supports reception-aged children with speech and language development, with funding confirmed until the 2028 to 2029 academic year (subject to spending review). Please encourage your early years settings and schools to register for NELI – Register for NELI.
- Following the SEND consultation announcement, the Universal SEND Services contract has been extended. The programme offers 20 free, one-hour online CPD units on inclusive practice, funded by the DfE and delivered by Whole School SEND and the Education Training Foundation. These provide practical, evidence-informed strategies to address common barriers to learning - Online CPD Units | Whole School SEND.
