The mayor has confirmed the extension of Universal Free School Meals funding for another academic year. This means that all primary aged children in state funded schools will continue to be able to have a free school meal until July 2025, subject to the Mayor’s formal budget setting process. 

A letter was sent to Headteachers from the mayor’s office on Tuesday 9 January 2024. Additionally, a letter from the Mayor to families, which schools are asked to share.
