The purpose of the Waltham Forest SEND & Commissioning service is to work in partnership with children, young people, families, schools and wider services to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes. The service provides strategic leadership, statutory assessment and review processes, educational psychology support, specialist commissioning, and the planning and delivery of services that help meet a broad range of needs across education, health and care. Together, these services promote inclusion, strengthen provision across the local area, and ensure that support is coordinated, effective and responsive to the needs of children, young people and their families.
