KS4 Headteachers have ‘early’ access to the 2023 KS4 provisional results in the Department for Education (DfE)

School Census: Autumn 2023 Census Date

The deadline for maintained schools and PRU to submit a return to the local authority via COLLECT is Tuesday 10 October 2023.

Academies and Free schools submit returns directly to the Department for Education (DfE) using COLLECT by DfE timescales.

School Census is a termly return from all state-funded primary, secondary, special and PRUs.

This network is for careers staff working in Waltham Forest secondary schools and colleges who lead on or deliver Careers education, information, advice & guidance.

The network meetings provide an opportunity for practitioners and leaders to:

  • Get national and regional updates from the Local London Careers Hub East.
  • Network and share practice with other colleagues from Waltham Forest
  • Discuss approaches to delivering careers education

An introduction to careers provision in secondary schools for governors

The training will cover:

  • Careers for all of us
  • What is CEIAG & why an effective careers programme is important for schools
  • An overview of current provision in Waltham Forest secondary schools
  • How governors can support and challenge their schools and trusts to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks
  • Becoming a careers governor or trustee – further training  

Background information

The National Governance Association have collaborated with the Careers and Enterprise Company to produce a guide called Providing an effective careers programme: The role of governing boards in the secondary phase.

Please make any pupil amendment requests and submit evidence/information before 5pm on Wednesday 18 October 2023, after this there will be no facility to make any further pupil amendments.
