Safe Sleep Awareness week - Reminder of the risk factors associated with SUDI including unsafe sleep provided by research and information from The Lullaby Trust. The training session’s aim is to raise awareness of risk factors associated with Sudden Unexpected Death in Infants (SUDI) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and provide professionals, such as midwives, health visitors, social workers, early years staff, child minders, foster carers, physios, community nurses and neonatal nurses with updated information to support families around safe sleep practices to reduce and prevent future deaths from SIDs or SUDI. Any professional or person that works with families where there are young babies are welcome to attend.
Managing allegations made against people who work with children (LADO)

This training is designed for anyone working or volunteering with children in Waltham Forest and focuses on understanding the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) in managing concerns about professional suitability and allegations. It aims to build participants’ knowledge of the process for handling allegations against professionals, ultimately increasing their confidence in responding appropriately when a safeguarding concern involving a child is raised.
