Key dates in July 2025

Key events and national days aimed at education professionals in Waltham Forest.

Wednesday 2 July

Trusted Youth Allies

This training session is for all those working/volunteering with young people in Waltham Forest and will be delivered by Victoria Ebun. The aim of the session is to empower Trusted Adults with knowledge and practical tools, with a particular emphasis on understanding and responding to the needs and choices of young people. By the end of the session, participants will have a stronger understanding of safeguarding themselves when handling disclosures, feel more confident in dealing with disclosures of victimisation, and be better equipped to identify, support, and advocate for young people who may be victims of crime. They will also gain access to a range of resources and information to help support young people who have experienced crime.

Friday 11 July

HAF referral deadline

This Summer, the Waltham Forest Holiday Activity Programme will be running free activities for children who are in receipt of benefit related Free School Meals (FSM).

We have a small amount of funding to provide some places for vulnerable children who do not receive benefit related FSM. To refer a child for a place, please read the referral eligibility criteria and complete the online referral form by Friday 11 July 2025. If referrals are received after this time a place can not be guaranteed for the child.
