Tuesday 4 July

Free online financial PSHE training opportunity

This CPD will equip teachers to confidently lead financial literacy and digital learning, ensuring schools can achieve Personal Development outcomes. 

From industry-leading PSHE practices to the latest digital resources, this CPD opportunity will provide practical tips, strategies and examples on how to implement game-based learning to teach financial literacy and ‘level up’ PSHE at your school.

Co-led by the Newham PSHE Partnership and Dot Dot Fire, an award-winning digital game maker, this workshop takes the guesswork out of technology to elevate pupils’ personal development in your classroom.

Your Community, Your Imperial Undergraduate Event 

Join Imperial College London at a free event on the 5 July at Imperial’s South Kensington Campus where students can find out more about the scholarships, meet Black academics and current students and find out more about life at the College.

Join us to discover more about Imperial and all we have to offer. At the event you can also find out about our undergraduate scholarships for students of Black heritage and discover what makes Imperial the place to be as London’s top university! You will also hear from our undergraduate students on their experiences of studying with us. Free drinks and food will be provided.

Green Careers Showcase 2023

Students aged 16-25, with a love of nature and a keenness to kickstart a green career are encouraged to attend the FREE Green Careers Showcase.

Held on Thursday 6 July at Walthamstow Wetlands from 4-7.30pm.

  • Hear inspirational speakers  
  • Meet employers from the environment sector  
  • Find training, apprenticeship and job opportunities   
  • Try practical, hands-on workshops in nature conservation  

Supported by London Youth and London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Transition Day

There has been a change to the “Year 7 Transition Day” this year.

This has been necessary following the announcement by the NEU that their members who are teachers will be taking strike action on 5 July.

Thursday 13 July

Celebrate a year of climate action with other local Eco-Leads. More importantly, meet St Saviour's School's alpacas!

This half term's Climate Action teach-meet is an informal session to share highlights and challenges of the year with other local Eco-Leads. There will also be top tips for learning in the school grounds and tour of St Saviour's Primary School and Little Learners Nursery outdoor learning area (including alpacas!). 

You don’t have to be a designated Eco-Lead to join this event, it’s open to all Waltham Forest school and college staff.

Climate Leaders: Eco-Action Week at The Hive

The Hive is running a free Climate Leaders: Eco-Action week for 16-25 year old's living and/or studying in Waltham Forest.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the ecology of Epping Forest, get a nationally recognised Carbon Literacy accreditation and develop climate leadership skills. 

The course is packed with in-depth sustainability knowledge, practical conservation methods and skills for enabling young people to create positive change.

Waltham Forest Employment and Skills Event

The Waltham Forest Employment Business and Skills Service invites you to this exciting event designed to provide you with information, advice, and enrolment opportunities for a wide range of adult learning courses. 

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to meet over 20 local employers who will be offering live job opportunities.

This event is open to all residents of Waltham Forest and admission is free.  Queens Road Adult Learning Service, Queens Road, London, E17 8QR.

The event runs from 11.00am to 3.00pm (Open from 9.30am for people with (SEN) Special Educational Needs).
