The Council believes that all young people should be educated within their local mainstream school wherever appropriate. However, we recognise that mainstream education will not always be right for every young person all of the time.
We work with schools and parents to ensure children and young people are educated in the most appropriate setting for them and to deal with any issues that may arise.
This service is provided free of charge, as this is funded from the High Needs Block of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG).
The service has high-quality professionals experienced in working with young people who are vulnerable, display challenging behaviour or who have been excluded from school.
We work with your school to ensure that young people are educated in appropriate educational provision.
