Model Health & Safety Policy for Educational Settings
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team has published a new Model Health and Safety Policy for Educational Settings, replacing the previous Local Codes of Practice (LCOPs). The new policy provides a single framework to help schools meet their health and safety responsibilities and establish effective local arrangement.
What schools need to do
Schools should review and customise the policy to reflect their own arrangements, ensure it is approved and communicated to staff, and review it annually. The policy should be signed by the Headteacher and Chair of Governors (where applicable).
Schools who purchase the Health and Safety enhanced service can download policies on the Traded Services enhanced service area.
Those school who do not purchase the enhanced service there is a general resource area.
