Childminders who are interested in offering the FEEE, MUST contact their Development Officer prior to beginning the registration process.
Childminders will need to request for the compliance check to be assigned to them via the Early Years New Provider Compliance Application.
Once you have been assigned the check, you will receive an email confirmation with the link to complete the compliance check. Please ensure that you have used an email address you monitor as all communications from the process will be directed to the email you registered with.
To ensure the quality of your submission and increase the likelihood of completing the process in a timely manner, please ensure that you refer to the help text throughout the compliance check document.
Attend any relevant Waltham Forest Training that will assist you with completing the compliance check.
Seek any advice you may need from your Childminding Development Officer to complete the compliance check.
Once you have fully completed and submitted your compliance check with the supporting documents, the Early Years and Childcare and Business Development (EYCBD) service will begin to evaluate the information and a confirmation of email receipt will be sent to the childminder.
The EYCBD service will aim to review your completed submission within 4 weeks and provide you feedback. If your compliance check submission has missing and/or inaccurate/unclear documentation this will delay the process further.

A site visit will be arranged by a Development Officer to the Childminder’s setting within 12 months of them applying to become a FEEE provider. The Development Officer will speak with the childminder to ensure that they demonstrate a good understanding of, and comply with, key elements of the FEEE compliance check and review any further supporting/additional documentation resulting from speaking with them.
Childminder MUST be available for the site visit, failure to comply with this will result in the visit being cancelled. Childminder must provide at least 24hours notice of site visit cancellation via email.

You will need to have been approved for childminder compliance check before you can be commissioned by the local authority to deliver the FEEE; no local authority agreement will be issued until they have been approved as meeting the required standards.
The commencement date for your FEEE agreement would be the date that you receive confirmation of approval of compliance check.
Please note: FEEE payments will only commence from the local authority agreement start date; no retrospective payments will be made.
