Waltham Forest is the first London Borough of Culture 2019. An exciting year-long programme of events and projects is planned with cultural partners. This features brand new commissions from world-class artists and co-creations with the local community. There are lots of opportunities for schools and young people to participate.
Waltham Forest is recruiting volunteers aged 16 and above to help deliver London Borough of Culture 2019. Volunteers will be vital to ensuring that the year of culture is a success, from welcoming visitors to the borough, supporting large scale events, performing as cast members, even planting flowers!
This would be valuable work experience in the Creative Industries for students, while next summer’s events will include supporting artists in delivering children’s workshops, so volunteers with teaching experience will be most welcome.
Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019 are looking for 100 trainees to become the next generation of leaders in the creative world.
The second round of applications is now open until Sunday 22 September!
There are a range of cultural events that are taking place throughout the year, including free workshops for students, aiming to inspire young people around arts and culture.
The events are constantly updated on the WF Culture website.
