Wednesday 16 September

Creative Careers CPD

Waltham Forest Cultural Education Partnership (CEP) in collaboration with Waltham Forest Careers Service, Leyton 6th Form College and Big Creative Academy, presents this 1-hour CPD on the value of creative careers

2.30-3.30 - Creative careers CPD which will include an overview of the new Creative Careers Resource/Toolkit. The CEP has commissioned production of a flexible information resource on creative careers that can be used with secondary students/parents to underline value of careers in creative industries, the importance of creativity as a key skill in employability and signposts further information. The presentation can be used by creatives, teachers or careers advisers as part of careers sessions.

School Organisation Admissions Board

The local authority has a statutory duty to ensure that there are sufficient places in their area for every child of school age whose parents want their child to attend school.

The School Organisation and Admissions Board (SOAB) is a discretionary board that provides support to the council in its statutory obligation to provide sufficient school places for all children within its geographical areas.

Tuesday 22 September

School Business Manager Network Meetings

The WF School Business Managers Network meets every six weeks and provides free guidance and training to school business professionals in maintained schools.

This meeting will be on Microsoft Teams and will start at 9.30am.

Strategic Education Asset Management Board

Key education and asset related decisions made by Cabinet Member for Children and Young People (Cllr Grace Williams) and the Director of Children’s Services (Heather Flinders). Meetings every six weeks. Attended by directors and heads of service.
