National Offer Day

Friday 1 March

Hundreds of thousands of families across England will find out today whether their child will attend their preferred secondary school from September, on what is known as National Offer Day. Parents will have until the Friday 15 March to confirm whether they accept the place they have been offered.

Waltham Forest Safeguarding Board

Friday 1 March

The Safeguarding board meets regularly to ensure that all local children's agencies within Waltham Forest work together for the safety and well being of children and young people.

National Careers & Apprenticeships week

4 to 8 March

In 2019 the National Apprenticeship Week coincides with National Careers Week and aims to provide more activities that highlight the benefits apprenticeships bring to employers and the opportunities apprenticeships present to individuals.

Safeguarding in settings sub-committee

Monday 4 March

Safeguarding in Settings is a subgroup of the Waltham Forest Safeguarding Children Board.

Learning and Improving Practice Forum

Monday 4 March

Waltham Forest’s Learning and Improving Practice Forum aims to support the four strategic boards to monitor and evaluate their effectiveness and to ensure that learning is shared across the four groups listed below.

World Book Day

Thursday 7 March

World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and of course reading. It is a charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own. 

British Science Week

8 to 15 March

British Science Week is a 10 day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, taking place from the 8th - 17th March. 

Waltham Forest school Business Manager network

Tuesday 12 March

WF School Business Managers Network for maintained schools. Focus on setting budgets and forecasting, with a presentation on Access Education Budgets and workspace. Meeting 9.00am-12.00pm at Edinburgh Primary School.

National Down Syndrome Awareness Week

18 to 24 March

Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week and World Down Syndrome Day are an amazing opportunity to challenge our society’s misconceptions about Down’s syndrome and to call for it to be more inclusive.

Inclusion Forum

Thursday 21 March

The Inclusion Forum meetings on a monthly basis. It is a discretionary group created to provide strategic direction on a number of inclusion related matters including SEND, pupil behaviour and disadvantaged pupils.

Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS)

Friday 29 March

Statutory deadline for maintained schools to return their SFVS self assessment to Education Finance team.
