Water a Waltham Forest tree this summer

With more than 8,000 trees planted in Waltham Forest over this year’s planting season, these trees will need extra watering during the hot summer months to help them to thrive after the extremely dry spring.

The Council is asking local people to help out and give a young tree two large watering cans every two days until the end of the summer.

Just pour the water into the green bag located near the stem of the tree, or pour half the water into the irrigation pipe and half at the base of the tree. Watering should ideally be carried out in the early morning or evening.
