The Institute of Education in UCL are seeking 120 state-funded primary schools (reception classes) in the London and Greater London area to take part in an innovative Education Endowment Foundation funded evidence-based reading programme. The Flexible Phonics programme aims to improve language and literacy amongst all reception age children and is aimed at reception teachers and teaching assistants.
Schools who get involved will benefit from:
- being randomly assigned to the flexible phonics group or a control group as part of a randomised control trial
- receiving 1.5 days training (in Winter 2020), a delivery manual and £400 of quality children’s books
- control schools receive £1000 and will carry out their teaching as usual
Email Flexible Phonics before July 2020 to express your interest.
