FEEE funding for two, three and four year olds for Autumn 2020 term

It is our intention to continue to provide guaranteed Autumn 2020 funding based on Autumn 2019 occupancy levels, as per the Schools Forum report dated February 2020.  However, we cannot commit to this until we have had confirmation of the DfE’s funding arrangements to the local authority for the Autumn Term 2020 and Spring Term 2021. As soon as we have confirmation of the funding arrangements between the Government and the local authority, we will provide all settings with an update.

We have formally written to the DfE this week to seek urgent clarification as to the final early years funding allocation the local authority will receive for the full financial year 2020-21 as this will allow the local authority and early years providers to put in place financial plans for the remainder of the year as soon as possible.

Our intention would be to continue to provide guaranteed Autumn 2020 funding based on Autumn 2019 occupancy levels, but we cannot commit to that until we have had confirmation of the DfE’s funding arrangements to the local authority for the Autumn Term 2020 and Spring Term 2021 as we must ensure that we are not making financial commitments to providers that will not be fully funded by the early years funding received by the local authority.

As soon as we have confirmation of the funding arrangements between the Government and the local authority, we will provide all settings with an update. In the meantime, for provisional budgeting purposes, you may want to use the indicative budgets provided for the Autumn 2020 term as set out in the February 2020 Schools Forum report, which can be found here.
