Child Safety Week - 7-13 June 2021
7 June 2021
Accidents are all too common for children and that’s perfectly normal, but nobody wants to face the heartache and suffering caused when children are involved in serious accidents, that are fatal or have life-long repercussions. That’s why we ask you to help raise awareness of Child Safety Week, an annual community education campaign run by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT).
This year, Child Safety Week runs from 7-13 June and we will be focusing on seven themes that we ask you to help us raise awareness of:
- Breathe easy
- Fire Safe Families
- Free from falls
- Prevent Poisoning
- Safe Around roads
- Safe from Burns
- Watch out in water
All seven topic fact sheets are available in detail in the Parents Pack: Safe from Accidents which is free to download from CAPT. This is published in English and includes more information and advice on all seven topics, a quiz, spot the difference and safety word search activities. Translated information is planned and five fact sheets will be available soon in Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Polish and Arabic on the website.
You can also connect with CAPT on Facebook and start sharing their new safety animations and illustrations launching on Monday 7 June. Read their safety fact sheets and then share what you’ve learnt with family, friends and colleagues. Find a range of fresh and free resources for your work with families, including fact sheets, session plans and materials for colourful displays.
