The Big Youth Conversation 2019
23 September 2019
Continuing the success of the award winning Big Youth Conversation 2018, The Big Youth Conversation 2019 surveyed people aged 7 to 25.
Created and led by young people, it allowed young people to tell the council how it is to grow up here and what changes they want to see. These were some of the outcomes:
- 49% of young people said they had experienced or witnessed hate crime
- 40% of young people said there was not enough advice on money issues
- 45% said there was not enough advice on politics
- 43% of young people didn't feel there was enough advice on Climate Change
The main report will be published in October 2019.
Young people also ran assemblies, workshops and attended many Waltham Forest events and even created a Borough of Culture video.
