Amazon Longitude Explore Prize
26 January 2021
The Longitude Explore Prize is looking for entries from young people that show how technology can help tackle the issues they care about. Finalists will be provided with expert mentors, online workshops and STEM goodies to help develop their ideas, and after an exciting pitch event in July 2021, the winning team will collect £20,000 for their school. Runners up will receive £5,000 each, as well as individual prizes for all young people and team leaders that take part. The deadline for entry is the 12th February 2021. Taking part is completely free. Please see the information pack for more detailed information on the Prize.
With the added stresses of lockdown my colleagues are providing additional support to help schools submit their entries, including:
- Free online resources: Lesson plans & worksheets available to help get teams started and thinking of ideas to apply with.
- Free 1:1 sessions with a FireTech tutor: Sessions are limited and can be booked through Calendly. Sessions are available 18 January - 5 February 2021 and are limited to one per school/youth group but you are welcome to discuss more than one idea if you are making multiple applications.
- Help from the prize delivery team: You can contact them directly for a 1:1 call to discuss any questions or concerns, just email firstname.lastname@example.org.
